Linyi City, originally named as Langya County, Yizhou Prefecture and located in southeastern Shandong Province, is the most populous and largest administrative region (17,200km2) with jurisdiction over three districts and nine counties in Shandong, adjacent to Rizhao City in the east, Jiangsu Province in the south, Zaozhuang, Jining, Tai'an in the west, and Weifang, Zibo in the north. Three districts & nine counties: Lanshan District, Luozhuang District, Hedong District, Pingyi County, Cangshan County, Tancheng County, Fei County, Yishui County, Mengyin County, Yinan County, Linshu County, Junan County Linyi City, with a long geological history, has full exposed stratum. Structurally, Yishu fault zone separates it into the east part and the west part, which belong to Jiaoliao rift zone and Luxi uplift area respectively. Due to this, the city is high in northwest and low in southeast in its topography, with mountains, hills and plains accounting for one-third each. Located in southeast of Shandong Province, Linyi City enjoys sub-humid warm temperate continental monsoon climate as one of the areas with best hydrothermal conditions in the province. In light of this, many subtropical plants can survive in winter, so it is the famous vegetable town and home of tea in the North. |
